So now the question is, coming off a Super Bowl appearance, how much should we anticipate the Patriots spending in 2026, and how will they allocate those resources — are they going to "go for it," or are they going to stay the course with the rebuild? The short answer: Unless Robert Kraft suddenly turns over a new leaf (it's possible, for reasons I'll get into), I would not anticipate the Patriots spending all that much.

It was a mixed bag for the Patriots at the NFL Honors awards show on Thursday night. While Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels won coach of the year and assistant coach of the year, Drake Maye was edged out by Matthew Stafford for MVP. Stafford won by the closest margin outside of two previous ties.

The biggest news is Drake Maye (shoulder) and Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle) practiced fully and are off the injury report for the game. Emmanwori did not practice on Thursday after tweaking his ankle on Wednesday. "No designation for Nick," Mike Macdonald said. "Turns out he's alive."

When Seattle took a 19-0 lead with 13:24 to play, the Patriots had five first downs, 78 total yards on 39 plays, were 2 of 11 on third down, Drake Maye (8 of 18, 60 yards, five sacks) had as many completions as Bryce Baringer had punts (eight). The Seahawks were just dominating up front as the line struggled to protect, and Maye got really sped up.
