BSJ Game Report: Celtics 120, Warriors 99 - Brown, Tatum lead dominant night

Kristaps Porzingis started off his TD Garden return with a bang. He blocked Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta at the rim in quick succession, ran the floor, and earned himself a trip to the line. From that point on, however, it was all Boston Celtics.

Bedard: Why the Patriots likely won't be big spenders this offseason, and why they might surprise

So now the question is, coming off a Super Bowl appearance, how much should we anticipate the Patriots spending in 2026, and how will they allocate those resources — are they going to "go for it," or are they going to stay the course with the rebuild? The short answer: Unless Robert Kraft suddenly turns over a new leaf (it's possible, for reasons I'll get into), I would not anticipate the Patriots spending all that much.

NHL Notes: Bruins players appreciate 'trust' in current group

The Bruins players went out and played arguably their best game since the Olympic break after the NHL trade deadline had come and done, and perhaps that wasn’t a coincidence for the Black and Gold. There was no big additions to a group that’s already played their way into a wild card playoff spot this season, but there were also no subtractions to a group of players that have shown character, resilience and toughness that wasn’t there a year ago. It didn't mean that the Bruins didn't try to make moves, of course, as they finished as the runner-ups for the services of Rasmus Andersson prior to the Olympic break, and they were definitely in the running for forward Connor Garland before he ended up getting moved to a Columbus Blue Jackets team chasing them in the standings.

Hurley: What's really at stake in an A.J. Brown trade?

I wanted to provide one bit of perspective when it comes to the actual cost of acquiring A.J. Brown for the Patriots. The words "first-round pick" can mean a whole lot of things, so I thought it best to zero in on the exact area in the first round that the Patriots own their pick this year to try to provide some detail on the caliber of player that gets taken that late in the first. That way, perhaps we'll all be able to determine how we feel about coughing up a first-round pick, if that is indeed the high end of the asking price for Brown.

Simone's Six: Defensive chess, offensive checkers, and a Jayson Tatum update in Celtics-Wolves

Everything looked good until it wasn’t. And then it was again. And then it wasn’t. Sunday night’s game between the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves was a true back-and-forth affair, but the Wolves got the last laugh.

Giardi: Time for the Patriots to take a tight end in the '26 Draft

The Patriots need an infusion of talent, with Hunter Henry much closer to the end than the beginning. The veteran wore down as the season progressed, largely because he was asked to do too much as a blocker.

Simone's Six: Jayson Tatum returns, what it means, and his biggest impact in Celtics-Mavericks

It was a beautiful night at TD Garden. The Boston Celtics’ matchup against the Dallas Mavericks played second fiddle to the real story: Jayson Tatum’s return.
